Samsung made its mark in the wearable devices market with Galaxy Gear line of smartwatches last year. Soon, the Korean tech giant forayed into fitness trackers with Galaxy Gear Fit. Last week we reported that Samsung’s next smartwatch can make phone calls independently.
Today, fresh patent leaks are suggesting that Samsung is working on a smartwatch that for starters round in design. This means the company is chucking its old. Also, it looks like Samsung has taken a cue from Motorola whose upcoming smartwatch Moto 360 also sports a round dial. The patent which was originally filed in August last year shows that the device will boast of gesture controls. It will come powered with an inbuilt camera, integrated heart rate monitor and a range of software enhancements.
As per the patents, the smartwatch will offer weather information, location and fitness-tracking details. Moving on, these patents also suggest that the smartwatch can be paired with devices like smartphone and tablet. While, previous reports had suggested that the phone can work independently i.e without tethering to a device.
No further details or specification of the smartwatch is available yet except the leaked patent images.
