Apple asks the US Court to ban sales of Samsung devices

Apple is not letting it go. The iPhone and iPad maker is re-targeting Samsung for patent infringement. Apple has filed a motion with the US court to block the U.S. sale of some older Samsung products. The move comes from the company after a jury verdict earlier this month that Samsung violated three of its patents. Apple was granted mere $119.6 million in damages against $2 billion demanded in this latest verdict.

Apple is now requesting the court to order Samsung Electronics from stop using features that were found to infringe three of its patents viz, “quick links,” “slide to unlock,” and/or “automatic word correction. The company has also asked the court to review damages awarded by the jury or to order a retrial.

In the papers filed Friday, Apple claimed it “will suffer irreparable harm if Samsung continues its use of the infringing features,” and that “monetary damages cannot adequately compensate Apple for this resulting irreparable harm.” Apple’s proposal would bar Samsung from selling nine of its products: the Admire, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy S III and Stratosphere phones.
