Facebook has updated Facebook Messenger for Windows with two new features. The latest update makes photo sharing easy and fast as the camera button is now situated within the app.
Prior to this users had to exit the app and then click a photo. In addition, Messenger for Windows gets a revamped Gallery that gives you quick access to photos on your phone in the app itself. This feature first came to app for iOS and Android
Moving on, Facebook Messenger now gets Group Tabs that will enable you to manage people on your list. These groups are fully customizable with the ability to add friends, co-workers, and family. They can also pin such groups to the handset’s Start screen in order to gain speedy access.
Facebook Messenger 5.0 update includes:
- Groups: Now you can create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place.
- Instant photo sharing: Take a photo and send it in just one tap. Plus, it’s easier to send photos from your gallery.
- Continued improvements: We’re working to make the app more reliable and use less data.
Finally, the app also gets performance improvements and bug fixes. It will now cache more images and stickers in the background for better data consumption. Owing to tough competition in the instant messaging market, Facebook added voice calling capability to Facebook Messenger for Android and iOS in India in March this year.
You can download the latest version of the Facebook Messenger from Windows Phone Store.
