Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Hands On

Samsung was long rumored to be launching a Super AMOLED display laden Galaxy Tab and as expected, they announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet at an event on June 13. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5’s key point feature is its gorgeous and jaw dropping high resolution Super AMOLED display that will definitely knock you out thanks to the punching colors.

We managed to get our hands on the device and you can check out the quick hands on video right below (Spoiler alert:Display is absolutely gorgeous).

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 are as follows

  • 10.5-inch (2560×1600 pixel) 16:10 Super AMOLED display
  • Octa-Core Exynos (A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) processor / 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor
  • Android 4.4 (KitKat)
  • Dimensions: 125.6 x 212.8 x 6.6mm; weighs 294g (Wifi) /298g(LTE)
  • 8MP rear camera with LED flash
  • 2.1MP front-facing camera
  • 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, IrLED, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou
  • 3GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB internal memory, microSD (up to 128 GB)
  • 7900mAh battery

On the front, we have the gorgeous Super AMOLED display punching us in the face and I am personally a huge fan of the Super AMOLED display, so I absolutely love it. Yes, there are purists who will argue that the colors are not natural, but they cant deny the fact that these very pleasant. Below the display, there is the new Samsung physical key arrangement that is constituted by a physical home button with Fingerprint scanner on it and it is flanked by capacitive touch keys on either side.

Moving to the back, we find the Samsung Galaxy S5 like dotted pattern. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 feels very light and weighs just around 465g. The device should be coming to the market soon and the pricing of the 16GB WiFi variant will be around $499.
