Asus announced the Zenfone range in January this year that included the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6. We got our hands on the Zenfone 5 prior to its official release this week. Check out the hands on and unboxing video along with benchmarks of the device. The phone which has a 5inch HD display and is powered by Intel Atom Z2580 Chip clocked at 2GHz. The memory storage includes 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage options. The Asus ZenFone 5 runs on Android 4.3 Jellybean and will get the Android 4.4 KitKat update very soon.
The Asus Zenfone 5 has a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. The device has a Pixelmaster technology which combines a f/2.0 aperture, an 8-megapixel Sony BSI sensor, a 5-element lens, image stabilization. Images in Auto mode are pretty good and produce decent photo quality. As you can see there is just minute difference between images in HDR mode and Auto mode. The low-light mode did not take clear photos as they came out to be grainy and blurry. Also, the shutter speed becomes quite slow at the time of taking photos in the low light mode which results in poor quality image.
Besides these modes, Asus Zenfone 5 also have different modes like Panorama, time rewind mode, GIF animator mode and also a dedicated selfie mode that uses the rear camera that has the ability to detect faces and shoots an image with the help of an auto timer.
