Skype 5.2 for iPhone brings Voice Messaging, view contact profiles and more

Microsoft has updated its iPhone app to version 5.2 that brings a range of new features including support for voice messaging that lets you receive a new voice message from someone. It also brings option to view contact profiles that was removed in after the redesign and add participants to existing conversations. Skype for iPhone got a major redesign last month that brought ability to start group chat from the main hub, improved notification and more.

The Skype 5.1 update brought ability to delete a conversation, edit a message and added a “Skype”-only contact filter and more.

New features in Skype 5.2 for iPhone

  • Receive a new voice message from someone, just press play to listen.
  • Simply tap on any contact in your people list and then select profile to view contact’s mood message, Skype name, birthday, location and more .
  • Add participants to existing conversations

The Skype 5.2 update would be available for iPhone users running iOS 7.0 and later over the Apple iTunes Store later today.
