The elusive OnePlus One might not be easy to get hold of, but the device certainly has a massive following on the internet. That has caused a lot of rumours around the company to show up, some of which talk about a possible OnePlus Two aka ‘Lettuce’ that’s apparently in the works. Their first device, the OnePlus One, is known by the codeword ‘Bacon’ which might be the reason behind the name for the OnePlus Two.
None other than @evleaks talked about the OnePlus Two last night via a message on Twitter, which left the tech world bamboozled. This left OnePlus One hopefuls furious, because as we mentioned it has been extremely tough getting your hands on one if you don’t wish to pay exorbitant prices to scalpers in China. The device, by the way, is sold without invite in China which means it’s a breeding ground for scalpers.
We’re just working on the OnePlus One for 2014. Thanks!
– OnePlus, in a statement to Android Police
Anyway, coming back to the OnePlus Two controversy; Android Police reached out to OnePlus for a word on this, to which the Chinese company replied ‘We’re just working on the OnePlus One for 2014. Thanks!’. Folks at the startup (if you can call them that) seem to be men of few words, but it was enough anyway. It is clear that the OnePlus Two isn’t coming anytime soon, so you might as well redirect your efforts into trying to get the One.
