Microsoft Research has launched a climate monitoring app for Android. Dubbed as Climatology, the app provides weather information from all over the world.
The climate tracking app that is based on Microsoft’s research technology showcases details of the weather around the globe including temperature, rain, and clear sky. Normally this detailed climate information is mostly used by scientists and researchers but this new app allows that information to be shown to a wider audience.
It must be noted that Climatology is not like any other weather app that bring today’s and tomorrow’s forecasting. Instead it focuses on broader trends of climate ecosystem using technology developed by environmental scientists at Microsoft Research. In order to know about the weather users can choose any location by zooming and swiping on the map and pick a month to display information for a particular time of year.
Microsoft first released the app on Android and then on Windows Phone, which is a bit surprising. You can download the app from Google Play Store and Windows Phone App Store.
