We already know a bunch of specs and details about the upcoming iPhone 6 launch. One of the information which is highly expected is that Apple will launch iPhone 6 in two models -5.5 inch and 4.7 inch model. Now, a fresh report from Cowen & Co. analyst Timothy Arcuri is suggesting that the Apple will add more powerful and faster processor to 5.5 inch iPhone 6 model than the 4.7 inch one.
Arcuri also said that the processor in the 5.5-inch model could ship with a larger die, hinting at a more wide-ranging architectural split. A larger die might be a sign that the 5.5-inch model will feature additional on-die silicon, such as a larger array of graphics processing cores. Alternatively, it might suggest that Apple will make the two chips — believed to be the “A8” — in different fabrication plants using different processes.
Apple has given different processors to devices in the same category in the past. For example, the iPad Air features a faster 1.39GHz A7 processor, while the iPad Mini with Retina display comes with a slightly less powerful version of the A7, which clocks in at 1.29GHz.
Finally, Arucri also believes that both iPhone 6 models “could sport different touch modules” Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 in mid-September.
