Online retailer Newegg enters India

Newegg, one of the popular e-commerce website has launched its operations in India as it promised back in June. It has also started its operations in five other countries that includes, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Poland and the Netherlands. Newegg is already available in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

These new international stores will have a limited selection of products to start, but availability will continue to grow and improve in the coming months, says the company. It is currently selling mobile accessories, but mobile phones and tablets are not available yet. It is also asking feedback from its customers in these new markets to improve its global presence.

It recently added multilingual customer service, available 24/7. This is currently available in Polish and Dutch, with more language support in future. In this responses composed in English are then translated into the customer’s language. Users in these new countries can select their country and currency from drop-down menus.

Regarding its expansion, Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer of Newegg North America

We’re excited to continue bringing the Newegg service, products and deals to a wider, more global audience. We’re committed to growing Newegg in these regions so people from all around the world can experience the stellar shopping experience our North American customers currently enjoy.

Newegg would compete with Indian online retailers like Flipkart and Amazon. Previously Newegg said it would initially ship the orders from USA and then set up local presence.
