Sony is working on an entry level smartphone that will sport a 6.1 inch screen. The phablet has been spotted at the GFX benchmark under the model number D2203.
The GFX benchmark suggests that the handset will be a 6.1-inch FWVGA (480 x 854) and be powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) chipset and Adreno 305 graphics. Other specs include 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage , 5MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It is expected that the phone will likely run on Android 4.4.2. The Sony D2203 will also have Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and Wi-Fi. There is no mention of the battery or a microSD slot. Also, it will not be a dual sim phone and have a single sim instead.
This is likely the first time Sony is going for a budget phablet and it is not clear if it is up for a global launch or specific to Asian markets.
