Asus Padfone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6 get Android 4.4 KitKat update

Asus has released the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Padfone Infinity (A80) and the Fonepad Note 6 (ME560CG). It rolled out the Kitkat update for the Padfone 2 last month. The KitKat update also brings Asus ZenUI with a new user interface for these devices. The ZenUi brings clean layout, flat icons, new color themes, animations, new ringtone and notification tones.

After the update, some apps would be removed or renamed, says Asus. Asus did not list any major change in the changelog for the Padfone Infinity, but 15 apps would be removed after the upgrade. Check out the complete changelog for the Fonepad Note 6 below.

  • After KitKat version firmware upgrade, ASUS will not provide service for downgrading to JB version.

Update for Asus Fonepad Note 6 is about 1.15 GB and the update for Padfone Infinity (A80) is about 1GB. You need to download the ZIP image of the corresponding country variants or SKUs from the Asus website and sideload them to the smartphones. Asus insists users to back up the devices using Asus PC Tool since the update erases all the personal data.
