Nokia today launched it old mobile phone Nokia 6212. This actually is an old mobile phone from the Nokia stable but this time the phone comes with NFC also called as Near Field Communications. NFC is actually a next generation content sharing technology used by mobile phones. This technology lets you share media, contacts etc very easily between bluetooth enabled handsets. Earlier Nokia came up with the 6131, which has the same technology. The Series 40 mobile phone also has features like 2 meg clicker, miniUSB port, support upto 4GB of microSD card, FM radio, and Bluetooth.
“NFC-capable handsets such as the Nokia 6212 classic are set to change the way mobile phone users interact with devices and services in their surroundings,” says Jeremy Belostock, the Head of Near Field Communications, Nokia. “With the Nokia 6212 classic, people can swap items like business cards or calendar notes by simply tapping their handsets together.”
By just clicking the NFC enabled tag you can easily share weblinks, audio files or contact data. Application like web browser, FM radio can also be opened using this technology. With NFC enabled 6212 you can quickly and easily personalize and edit your NFC tags. The NFC technology has not become so widely used and will atke time to hit the mainstream mobile phone market.
The phone is expected to cost 300 Euros or Approx Rs.13000 in India
