As Hugo Barra extensively tours India preaching about the Xiaomi philosophy, it’s usually questions around the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note that he has to tackle.
The Redmi Note offers some impressive value for money. That’s prompted the device to already be very popular in markets it isn’t even available in yet, making other brands green in envy. China’s Coolpad (that actually has a partnership with India’s Spice) just rolled out a device — the Coolpad Great God F2 — that rivals the Redmi Note on the specs set, besides just being green in envy!
Specifications
- 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display
- 1.7GHz octa-core CPU
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB ROM
- LTE module – MediaTek MT6290
- 13 mega-pixel f/2.0 camera
The Great God F2 comes with a price tag of 999 CNY or about $160 that makes it an affordable LTE device. The device also bundles a ‘smart antenna’, that Coolpad claims increases reception by 30%.
A WCDMA China Unicom version will go on sale September 1st, with a China Mobile variant set to follow suit in the coming months.
