Xiaomi unveiled Mi 4, the company’s latest flagship smartphone last month. We brought you the photo gallery of the Mi 4, Unboxing and the benchmarks of the smartphone recently, here we have the photo gallery, comparing the Mi 4 and the Mi 3 smartphones. Check out the gallery below.
Both these smartphones have a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla glass protection, but the Mi 4 is smaller than the Mi 3 due to smaller bezels.
The Mi 4 has a 8-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R sensor, 5-element lens and f/1.8 aperture, while the Mi 3 comes with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture. Both these have the usual set of sensors .
These have capacitive touch buttons for menu, home and back. The design is slightly different in the Mi 4.
Both these run on MIUI v5 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but the Mi 3 is based on Android 4.4.2, while the Mi 4 runs on the latest Android 4.4.4. Both these are expected to get the MIUI 6 in coming months.
Metal frame on the sides, gives the Mi 4 a premium look. Mi 3 has magnesium-aluminium alloy frame on the inside, but on the outside it is made of plastic that looks like metal.
The Mi 4 is 8.9mm thick, slightly thicker than the 8.1mm Mi 3, which is more curve on the sides.
The Mi 4 has a micro SIM slot on the left side, whereas the Mi 3 is just plain.
The Mi 3 has a micro SIM slot and a microphone hole on the top. Both have 3.5mm audio jack on the top. The Mi 4 also has a Infrared LED on the top. Since the Mi 4 has a metal frame, it looks shiny.
Both these have a micro USB slot and loudspeaker grill on the bottom.
Both these have a 13-megapixel rear camera with a secondary microphone. The Mi 4 has single LED flash, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor with 6-element lens, f/1.8 aperture and supports 4K video recording. The Mi 3 has dual-LED flash, Sony IMX 135 BSI sensor with f/2.2 aperture and supports only 1080p video recording.
The Mi 4 has a shiny plastic back cover, but the Mi 3 comes with a plastic back cover with a brushed metal feel. These have sealed back covers.
The Mi 4 comes with 3GB RAM compared to 2GB RAM on the Mi 3. Both these come with 16GB and 64GB variants without microSD expansion slot. The Mi 4 also comes in 4G variant that would launch soon. Check out more images below.
