The OnePlus One is perhaps one among the most wanted devices at the moment, at least among those who know about the phone. However, a major hindrance for those looking to purchase the device is the invite system.
It requires a to-be buyer to get hold of an ‘invite’ (basically a unique code) that can be obtained (i) either from others who have purchased the OnePlus One or (ii) from OnePlus itself, via the numerous contests it holds. Although OnePlus has ramped up its production capacity in the recent months, the demand for the OnePlus One still outweighs supply.
However, in a recent AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit, OnePlus revealed that the company was looking to do away with the invite system by October.
“We are working on a pre-orders system, we were initially aiming for September but it’s been slightly delayed, hopefully we’ll be ready to launch it in October.”

This could be great news for those who have patiently been waiting to get hold of the device. The company is also starting to show signs of expansion into other markets, the first of which seems to be India.
