Samsung had announced the much rumoured Gear S smart watch last month but we got a chance to get our hands on it at the Samsung Unpacked event at IFA in Berlin. Here we bring you fresh photos from the show floor as our team is currently covering the event live. The Gear S surprisingly lacks the ‘Galaxy’ and runs on Tizen and brings 3G connectivity and an amazing curved Super AMOLED display to you wrist !
On the front you have a 2 inch AMOLED display running a resolution of 350x480px
The Gear S weighs about 67g for the Black version and 84g for the white version and is about 12.5mm thick
At the bottom you have the heart rate monitor like on the Gear 2 and Gear Live and surprise ! microSIM card slot!
It is IP67 dust and water resistant and packs a 300 mAh battery which can last upto 2 days.
On the fitness friend you have S Health, Nike+ Running on board.
From this it is hard to not say that the Gear S looks like a bent Galaxy phone from the company.
The Samsung Gear S also features turn-by-turn navigation powered by Here maps
The Samsung Gear S and the Gear Circle will go on sale globally starting from October.
