Along with the 7 inch Encore Mini Windows 8.1 tablet, Toshiba unveiled its next generation Chromebook. The company has annonced two models that are dubbed as Chromebook 2.
Both the models sport a 13.3 inch display in a 12-inch chassis. The first model is priced at $249 and features 1,280 x 720 HD display while the high end model has a 1,366×768-pixel resolution display and will cost $330. Toshiba Chromebooks boast of a silvery finish and measures 12.6 x 8.4 x 0.76-inches and weighs 2.95 pounds.
Each model will have an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor, 16GB of storage, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI output, an SD card reader, and 802.11ac WiFi. The battery life is rated upto 9 hours for the high end model while 11 hours for the standard one. Toshiba is also offering 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. Toshiba Chromebook 2 also have SkullCandy audio with high-quality bass and a wide range of audio.
The Toshiba Chromebook 2 will be available starting October 5.
