LG announced the G Watch R last month and we got our hands of the smartwatch at the IFA, Berlin 2014. The latest smartwatch from LG sports a circular display encompassed in a stainless steel frame. LG has added a circular Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display to watch which the company claims that utilizes 100 percent of its watch face.

The first smartwatch from LG was the G watch that was powered by Android Wear but had a rectangular display with 1.65 inch IPS LCD. Meanwhile, the latest G Watch R 1.3-inch (320 x 320 pixels) P-OLED Display. The G Watch R is made from a combination of stainless steel and aluminium, with a plastic back. It is almost similar to a standard analogue watch but quiet a bit thicker.
The LG G Watch R comes with a genuine 22m leather belt that can be changed as per your choice. It is difficult to distinguish the smartwatch from an original watch by taking a mere glance.
The LG G Watch R does not include an ambient light sensor hence it cannot automatically adjust the brightness.
The smartwatch runs on Android Wear and is compatible with smartphone running Android 4.3 and higher.
Under the hood, the LG G Watch R is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and has 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage.
At the back we can see the photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor that measures your hearbeats. The charging ping that are used for charging the watch are present on the left.Also, present in the watch is barometer. The G Watch R is dust and water resistant and can stay in water up to meter deep for 30 minutes.
Unlike the company’s first Android Wear device, the G Watch R features a physical button on the side, which can be long pressed to open the settings menu. It helps to wake or sleep the device and can be used as a “home” button. Furthermore, it allows you to quickly access the watch’s settings with a long press.
It has a 410mAh battery and the company promises it too lasts for up to 2 days.
The LG G Watch R comes in black color and would roll out in key markets starting from Q4 2014. A German press release had priced the watch at 299 Euro.
