Twitter now lets you directly buy things from tweets on mobile

Twitter’s buy button that was spotted few months back has become official. The company has finally introduced a new Buy button that lets you directly purchase things from a tweet on your mobile devices. Available currently for Twitter apps for Android and iOS, the feature is currently rolling out for a small percentage of U.S. users, says Twitter.

Twitter has partnered with Musictoday (@Musictoday), Stripe (@stripe) and more sellers, but it would add more partners and expand it to more people in future. Clicking the Buy button offers additional product details, after that you can enter the shipping information and payment information to place the order. Following your purchase, you will get an email with more information on shipping from the seller.

Payment and shipping information such as credit card details are encrypted and safely stored after your first transaction, so you can easily buy on Twitter in the future without having to re-enter all of your information, but this can be removed from your account any time, says the company. You can alway see your purchases on Payments and Orders tab within your Twitter settings.

Twitter is already service ads, including app install ads for mobile users. Amazon recently introduced Amazon Cart service to add the product to cart just by tweeting, but buying product via Twitter app looks simple. The could encourage users to buy more products easily and also saves time. But wide adoption might take some time.
