The Apple iPhone 5s, the previous flagship device, gives way to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus today, so naturally, it has received a price cut. During the keynote, Apple was careful enough to place the iPhone 5s on its slides, a nod to the fact that it will continue being one of the two 4″ iPhones you can still get. The device gets a 100$ price cut to 549$ for the 16 GB version while it’s 150$ lesser for the 32 GB variant, at 599$. The pricing has already been updated in the Apple store.
Unlike the iPhone 5c, the 5s did well for Apple, hence making the company maintain the pricing for long. As long as there’s demand, the pricing would hover at the initial rates and that has been the case for the 5s. We doubt that, after the launch of the new iPhones, people would actually get a 5s but the previous flagship is still a very capable device if you are ok with a smaller screen. There are not many differences in key components between the 5s and the 6, mainly because TouchID is already there. May be people will miss the NFC functionality or the new camera, but the 5s is still capable in all the other aspects, except for, of course, the screen size. So, now that the price of the iPhone 5s has reduced, are you looking to get one, or are you going for the new iPhones? Let us know in the comments section below.
