After Karbonn, Spice has teased what could be its first Android One smartphone. Just like Karbonn, the Spice smartphone would also be revealed on September 15th at 3:30 PM. Unlike Karbonn who have partnered with Snapdeal, Spice has partnered with Flipkart to sell the smartphone exclusively.
Karbonn’s teaser that was just a sketch, but Spice gives us a sneak peek of the smartphone in the teaser. Other things such as specifications are not clear at the moment, but it is likely to be similar to the reference device.
Google’s Android One initiative aims to offer sub $100 (Rs. 6000 approx.) smartphones based on reference hardware and stock software. Micromax, Karbonn and Spice were announced as the first Android One partners back in June at the Google I/O developer event. Micromax is yet to reveal their Android One plans for September 15.
Google has scheduled an event on September 15th, Monday at 12 noon, where it is expected to launch its first Android One smartphones.
