Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support.

Both the Fire HD 6 and HD 7 come in Black, White, Cobalt, Magenta and Citron colors. The HD 6 starts at $99 for the 8GB version and the 16GB variant costs $119. The Fire HD 7 costs $139 and $159 for the 8GB and 16GB variants, respectively. Both these are available for pre-order from Amazon in the US and would ship starting from October 2nd.
