Microsoft is offering iPhone users 30GB of free One Drive storage for a limited period of time. The company is doubling the free storage space as it originally offers 15GB of free space.
“We’ve been listening to the commentary about storage on the new iPhones released today and we wanted to get you more storage right away. We think you’ll appreciate having more free storage while setting up your iPhone 6 or upgrading to iOS 8”
said One Drive in a company blog post.
Microsoft is offering the additional 15GB free storage till end of this month. In order to receive the extra 15GB of space, users will need to login to the OneDrive app for iOS and enable the auto upload feature for the camera roll. Besides iPhone, Android and Windows Phone users that have already enabled the camera roll backup functionality will be automatically upgraded to 15GB of OneDrive space.
As a quick comparison, Dropbox currently only offers 2GB of free space, Box offers 10GB. Apple’s iCloud Drive offers 5GB of storage while Google Drive starts with 15GB of cloud storage. Moreover, Android and Windows Phone users that have already enabled the camera roll backup functionality will be automatically upgraded to 15GB of OneDrive space.
