HP is planning to launch HP Slate 17, an all-in-one Android desktop/tablet. As the name suggests the device will have a 17 inch screen that can be used as a large tablet or a desktop PC.
The device is powered by an Intel Celeron N2807 Bay Trail processor while in comparison HP Slate 21 is powered by NVIDIA Tegra processor. HP Slate 17 will sport a Full HD screen and run on Android KitKat 4.4. Other features include Beats Audio, 2GB of RAM, an HDMI port a USB 2.0 port, and a memory card reader. Connectivity options include built-in 802,11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 720p webcam. All the aforementioned features were listed on HP’s Peru website.
HP is claiming that the internal battery of the device will last for five hour on a full charge. HP Slate 17 weights a hefty 2.4 kg which is too heavy for a tablet and will not be suitable to carry it around easily. It will reportedly be available in the United States for about $470 and up in the coming weeks.
