Asus introduced the Zenfone series, the company’s first set of smartphones called the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 at the CES earlier this year. Asus is planning to unveil the second set of Zenfone smartphones at the CES 2015 in January, according to a report from Digitimes. This would include a 5.5-inch model that would lie between the Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 6.
The first set of Zenfone smartphones got the Android 4.4 update earlier this month. The first set of Zenfone smartphones are a huge success in India, mainly due to the competitive price tag. It recently crossed 2 lakh sales in India. According to the report, Asus has shipped 7.5 to 8 million units of Zenfone 5 smartphones globally.
Asus released the Zenfone 5 LTE in several countries recently, which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC instead of Intel chip. Hope we can expect the upcoming Zenfone smartphones to come with LTE support. We don’t have the specifications of the second-gen Zenfone series yet.
