At a time when the online world is buzzing with rumors and leaks about the Motorola Shamu aka Nexus 6, a report from Blog of Mobile is claiming that the HTC Nexus 9 tablet has visited the FCC.
A tablet has appeared at FCC under model number 0P82100, and the report claims that it is the Nexus 9. As per the filing, it looks like the tablet has Bluetooth, NFC, and 802.11ac, and will come in 16 and 32GB variants. Unfortunately, the FCC document does not reveal any other information and it is not clear when will we see the actual device.
Previous reports have suggested that the tablet will likely sport a 8.9″ (2048 × 1440 pixels) screen, NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera with Sony sensor, 3MP front facing camera, Stereo front-facing speakers and aluminium build. Some rumors that said it will come with 5GB RAM turned out to be fake. It will be 7.9mm thick and weigh 418 grams. It is expected to come in WiFi and LTE variants.
In June the tablet which will be likely called Volantis was leaked with some specs and render and it was reported to pass Wi-Fi certification.
