HTC joined the selfie focused smartphone clan by launching Desire EYE yesterday at the much touted Double Exposure event. The phone sports a 5.2 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. We have already seen the photo gallery of the phone and now lets take a hands on look at the device.

HTC Desire EYE is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with new HTC Sense UI. Similar to trademark HTC One smartphone, this one also boasts of dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers. What sets the phone apart from the lot is its massive 13MP front facing camera that comes with dual LED Flash, f/2.0 and 22mm wide-angle lens.
The camera boasts of several features like Face Tracking, Screen Share, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Live Makeup, Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie, Photo Booth, Crop Me In and more that can spruce up your selfie.
The phone also features a 13MP rear camera with dual LED Flash, f/2.0, 28mm lens and 080p HD recording. Encompassed in a unibody build, the Desire EYE is water-resistant and comes with IPX7 ratings. It measure 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs 154 grams. The device has 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD. Available in Matt White and Submarine Blue colors, the HTC Desire EYE will be available in EMEA, Asia and the US later this month.
