SwitKey has finally released a new beta version of the Android app after a long time, after they have made it free. The first v5.1 Beta version adds 13 new Indian languages including, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Nepali and Sinhala (Indo-Aryan language family). SwitKey already supports Hindi and Hinglish.
Unlike the previous beta versions that required to sign up into VIP forum, the latest beta lets you to download the app by joining the Google Group, accepting to join as Beta tester here and downloading it from the Play Store. The beta version is installed separately, so you can easily switch between the two.
To celebrate the launch and for the festive season, SwiftKey has launched a new Diwali theme in the Themes store for free. This is available for both the stable and beta versions. The new version also brings changes in SSL certificate for secure SwiftKey Cloud’s Backup & Sync services.
