We unboxed the RAVPower Deluxe (RP-PB19) 15000mAh Power Bank recently. Here we have the review of the power bank. It has a larger battery compared to the RAVPower Element 10400mAh Power Bank that reviewed recently. Design and build
The RAVPower Deluxe has a rectangular design and has plastic build. Unlike the RAVPower Element series that had shiny finish, this has smooth matte finish, so it doesn’t attract fingerprints. It looks like a portable hard disk. On the front there is a small power button along with wide LED strip that glows in blue color. It lights up show the remaining battery left to be charged, when it’s charging. You can press the button to show the remaining battery left when it’s not charging. Overall the build quality is pretty good.
It has a silver finish on the sides, similar to the RAVPower Element series, but this is not shiny. The power bank also comes in white color. It is huge and is 20mm thick, similar to most other high-capacity power banks. It weighs about 289 grams, heavier than the RAVPower Element. Since it is not compact, you can carry it in your pocket.
On bottom of the power bank there is a micro USB port for charging. It doesn’t come with a bundled charger, but comes with two USB cables, one long and one small. It has two USB slots, so you can charge two devices at a time. It needs a minimum 5V / 1A power to charge and it is recommended to use 2A chargers.
It even has a LED flashlight on the bottom, which comes in handy during emergency. You need to press and hold the power button for few seconds to turn on the flash light.
Performance
Since it’s a 15000mAh power bank, it can charge your smartphone several times and your iPad once completely, before it runs out of juice. The company doesn’t reveal charging conversion rate of the power bank. It doesn’t get heated even on prolonged usage. One USB slot offers 2.1A output and the other slot offers 2.4A output, so that you can even charge an iPad using both the slots. It also comes with a micro USB to mini USB converter and a micro USB to Samsung 30-pin connector. The new ismart technology identifies your device and offers the optimal charger it need, so it doesn’t limit your charging speed unlike other power banks.
Conclusion
Overall it’s a pretty good power bank and offers more juice to power several devices. It is not as compact as the RAVPower Elements series, but comes with new iSmart Charging technology which works well by charging tablets like iPad faster by offering the required power. Priced at $36.99 (Rs. 2300 approx.), the RAVPower Deluxe power bank is slightly costly, but it is worth the price.
