Google pushes Android 5.0 Lollipop source code to AOSP

Android 5.0 Lollipop source code is being uploaded to Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The release comes at the same time when Nexus 9 tablet is available online from Google Play Store.

Currently, Android 5.0 Lollipop is only being referred to as “lollipop-release” with build LRX21M under platform build but once everything is officially updated the name will be changed to android-5.0_r1. Google is also in the process of updating the device repositories for its existing devices and creating new ones for the Nexus 6 (shamu), Nexus 9 (flounder) and the Nexus Player (fugu). Another repository named atv, most likely for the ADT-1 running Android TV is also available. Repositories have also appeared for the 64-bit support on the ARM and x86_64 platforms.

Google’s Glen Kasten has also posted updated build instructions on Google Groups for Lollipop.
