Disney and Google has entered into a new partnership to allow access to all its movies including Pixar and Marvel on Android device. All the movies can be watched via Disney’s “Movies Anywhere” app that is available on Google Play Store.
The duo had launched the “Movies Anywhere” app on iOS in February this year. As it is a cross-platform solution, movies previously purchased on the iTunes Store will now be available to users on Android devices and vice versa.
“We set out to create an exceptional Disney experience that made owning digital movies easy and fun, and with Google Play now on board following our successful launch in February, we are able to deliver unprecedented availability and ease for consumers across a broad range of mobile devices,”
said Janice Marinelli, head domestic distribution for the Walt Disney Company in an official statement.
The Movies Anywhere app will enable consumers to explore Disney’s library of over 400 active digital titles from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel; preview upcoming offerings and enjoy hours of free new and exclusive short-form content. They can even discover curated content based on their individual preferences. Users can even redeem Digital Copies from Blu-Ray combo packs and features Chromecast support right out of the box.
Disney is offering a free digital copy of Wreck-It Ralph who signs up and links their Google account to Disney Movies Anywhere. Google recently updated Play Movies and TV app with Material Design and new features.
