Opera has updated the Opera Mini browser for the iPhone and iPad to version 9.0 that brings new video boost feature that brings down video buffering time. This uses Rocket Optimizer engine from Opera’s Skyfire that it acquired last year to reduce the size of video data, thus saving time and also the data.
Regarding the new feature, Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software, said,
This is the first time video optimization has been integrated into a web browser, so your browser can now take pride of place as your favorite video app. Video snags are a small problem, but an annoying one — a pothole on the internet highway. And Opera fixed it.

You can get the Video boost under the Opera Turbo mode. You just need to tap the data savings summary to change mode. Video boost also shows how many videos it has optimized. The new Opera Mini 9 also brings extra options for editing Speed Dial website shortcuts, has a revamped data-savings gauge and adds support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The new Opera Mini 9 update is now available for iOS users from the Apple iTunes Store.
