Samsung announced the Galaxy Mega 2, its latest Galaxy Mega series smartphone in September. The 6-inch phablet then went on sale in India last month for Rs 20,900. We have already seen the unboxing, benchmarks and photo gallery of the phone. Now, lets compare the device with last year’s Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 which we have already reviewed.
The Galaxy Mega 2 sports a 6-inch ( 1280 x 720 pixels) HD display while the Mega 6.3 has a 6.3-inch HD ( 1280 x 720 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display. The former device is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and the latter is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. Both the phones sport 1.5 GB RAM, 8/16GB Internal Memory that can be expandable up to 64GB with micro SD.
The Mega 2 has a 5MP front facing camera and 6.3 has 1.9MP front facing camera. Both the devices have the trademark physical home button and two capacitive buttons on the side.
Both the phones have power button on the right side.
The micro USB port is present at the bottom along with the microphone.
The volume rockers are on the left side of both the phones.
The 3.5 mm audio jack is seen on both the devices at the top along with microphone. The Mega 2 measures 8.6mm thick and weighs 196 grams while the Mega 6.3 measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 199 grams.
Both the phones have 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash.
Mega 2 and Mega 6.3 also have a removable back cover and removable battery. The former has a 2800 mAh battery and latter has 3200 mAh battery.
