In a bid to boost user privacy even further, Snapchat is undertaking a new measure. The ephemeral messaging service will now start issuing warnings to users on such apps and asking them to change their passwords to protect their privacy.
The move comes from Snapchat a month after more than one lakh photos were leaked online following a third party breach. It was claimed the images were collected over a number of years through which allow users to save and videos.
“Starting today, we will notify Snapchatters when we have detected that they may be using third-party apps and we’ll ask those Snapchatters to change their password and stop using unauthorized apps.”
posted Snapchat on a company blog.
Snapchat has also mentioned that it has “got some incredible new stuff on the way” soon.
