Soon after releasing Android 5.0 soak tests for second generation Moto X and Moto G, Motorola is now kick starting the roll out of Lollipop on Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto G (2nd Gen.) U.S. GSM and Moto G (2nd Gen.) Global GSM versions sold in the U.S.
“We’re working hard with our carrier partners to bring this update to more of our devices as soon as we can.”
said Motorola in a company blog post.
The company is rolling out updates in phases. As expected, Android 5.0 update will bring Material Design UI to enable natural touch screen interactions. The look of the UI revamps with vivid new colors, typography, and edge-to-edge imagery. In addition Motorola has introduced new settings dubbed as “Downtime” and “Interruption” that lets users toggle notifications for select apps and people.
Moving on, a new “Guest Mode” has been added that limits the access to certain apps. Finally, flashlight is added to quick settings and battery settings panel now shows an estimated projection for how much time you have left even while you’re charging. You can also enable a new battery saver mode that will save power by reducing performance and most background data operations to extend your battery life.
Earlier today, Google announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop is coming to Nexus devices.
