Samsung launched the Galaxy Alpha smartphone India back in September in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue color variants. We already brought you the hands on and the photo gallery of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in Charcoal Black variant from IFA and reviewed the Dazzling White variant. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Even the front part of the smartphone is gold in color. t is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (1.8 GHz Quad + 1.3GHz Quad) processor and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung own Touchwiz UI on top.
It has a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera on the top along with the usual set of sensors and the earpiece.
Samsung’s signature home button and the backlit capacitive touch buttons are present on either sides. The fingerprint scanner is built into the home button.
The power/lock button is present on the right side.
The volume rockers are present on the left side. The smartphone is just 6.7mm thick and weighs 115 grams. It has a metal frame.
The 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top along with a secondary microphone.
The primary microphone, micro USB slot and the speaker grill are at the bottom.
The removable back plastic cover has smooth finish. Under the back cover there is a 1,860mAh battery and the nanoSIM card slot.
There is a 12-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash. It is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution. You can check out the samples here.There is a heart rate sensor next to the camera.
It has 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory and and a range of connectivity features such as 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth v4.0 LE, GPS and NFC.
