Nokia launched the Z Launcher for Android in Beta back in June earlier this year and it has received several updated in the past few months after the launch. Today at the Slush technology conference in Helsinki, Nokia Technologies’s Head of Products Sebastian Nyström launched the Nokia N1 tablet and also announced that the Nokia Z Launcher Beta is available from Google Play Store.
The new Z launcher has also been updated with new features that includes,
- Faster – Small speed improvements from optimizations on specific handsets to obscure things like “finger tracking latency”.
- Better Prediction
- Refined Scribble – Improved recognition and response time
- Support to run on rooted devices
After hearing several feedback from the forum, the company has added configuration of favorite apps, hiding apps, and more device support. The new app is currently available for customers in the US and Europe on Google Play (Android 4.0 or later). Users from other countries can still download the launcher from the official Z Launcher website. The company is still taking feedback from the users to improve the launcher.
