Google Nexus 9 vs Nexus 7 Photo Gallery

Google announced the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC last month. We brought you the hand-on and the photo galley of the Nexus 9 followed by the unboxing. Now lets compare the Nexus 9 with Nexus 7 2012.

The Nexus 9 has a 8.9″ (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Dual Denver NVIDIATegra K1 64-bit processor with 192-core Kepler GPU and comes with 2GB of RAM. On the other hand the Nexus 7 2012 has a 7-inch (1280×800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with a 12 core GPU.  The former has a a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera while the latter has a 1.2MP front-facing camera.

Both the tablets have on-screen touch buttons. The front facing speaker is also seen on the Nexus 9 below the bezels. The Nexus 9 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and the Nexus 7 recently got the Lollipop update.

The back cover on the Nexus 9 has soft matte finish, similar to the Nexus 5. There is a large Nexus branding in the centre and a HTC branding on the bottom. While the Nexus 7 has a textured back cover with Nexus branding in the centre and Asus branding at the bottom.

Both the devices have the volume rockers and power button on the right side. However, these keys are is a metal finish on Nexus 9 and that on the Nexus 7 2012 is plastic and are situated on the back cover instead of the right side.

The Nexus 9 has 3.5mm audio jack on the top while the Nexus 7 2012 has no buttons on the top.

At the bottom, the Nexus 9 has the micro USB port while the Nexus 7 has micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nexus 9 is priced at Rs. 28,900 for the 16GB WiFi variant and Rs.44,900 for the 32GB LTE variant in India
