It comes with a free flip cover that replaces the back cover and also protects the screen.
The Hornbill S551 has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. The display is of course huge and it is bright. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali 400 MP2 GPU.
It runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with expansion slot.
It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, proximity and ambient light sensor and an earpiece grill above the display.
There are capacitive touch buttons for menu, home and back, below the display.
The smartphone is just 7.9mm thick and is has chrome finish on the sides. The power button is present on the right side.
The volume rockers are present on the left side. It weighs 145 grams.
The primary microphone hole is present on the top.
The 3.5mm audio jack and the micro USB slot are present on the top.
The back cover has tiny patterns and has a nice smooth finish. This makes the smartphone look premium. There is a large loudspeaker grill on the bottom part of the back.
There is a 13-megapixel camera on the back with LED Flash. It has Sony sensor and supports 1080p video recording. The LED flash is present on a metal strip. There is a Obi branding in the center.
Opening the back cover reveals the SIM card slots, one micro and one mini or standard. It also has a microSD card slot and a 2200mAh removable battery. We will be bringing you the benchmarks and the complete review of the smartphone soon.
