Cyanogen will continue delivering updates to OnePlus One globally

Cyanogen has cleared that it will continue updating OnePlus One  globally, including India. The company has cleared off rumors that were looming over the internet about OnePlus One not receiving any Cyanogenmod updates.

Last month Cyanogen exclusively partnered with Micromax as a hardware partner for Cyanogen OS, the commercial version of the popular CyanogenMod Android ROM, in India. OnePlus was surprised with Cyanogen’s move as it kept the future of OnePlus One users hanging for further updates. To curb any further rumors and  confusion, Cyanogen has clarified the details in its blog.

“We are proud of the work we did on the OnePlus One. Through our collaboration with OnePlus, we demonstrated the power of strong hardware and software tuned for exceptional performance. To clarify misinformation out there, the OnePlus One will get OTA firmware updates for all global devices, including global devices for our users in India.”

said Cyanogen in a company blog.

Meanwhile, OnePlus One was launched in India earlier this week with a competitive price tag of Rs 21,999.

Update – OnePlus One devices sold directly in India will not get OTA updates
