Android Studio 1.0 released for developers

Google has finally released Android Studio 1.0, the first stable version of its Integrated Development Environment (IDE) aimed at Android developers.

Announced at the Google I/O conference last year, Android Studio is equipped with unique features that help you target various types of phones and tablets, televisions, smart watches and cars. The tool, available for Windows, Mac and Linux, was under development for the past two years and is intended to replace Eclipse as the official Android IDE for developers.

The main aim of Android Studio is to provide a full-featured environment for easier, smoother app development. It has a number of feature like an intelligent code editor, code templates and GitHub integration, multi-screen app development. Moreover, it comes with support for creating multiple APKs with different features in the same project. Android Studio is available for download via the Android Developer’s website.
