SanDisk, the biggest maker of memory products for mobile phones and portable electronics has just announced their embedded iNAND chip with 64GB capacity.
The new iNAND 64GB drive can be used for system booting, system code, and mass storage functions. It is intended for use in mobile phones and smart phones.
The new chip is said to consolidate system code and user data onto a single device thereby reducing the space required. It also helps to reduction in the power consumption compared to drives that use different devices for system code and user data.
The move comes in the right time when Apple iPhone and other products from leading manufacturers are soon expected to come with 64GB of built-in memory.
