Google Now to soon add Nest thermostat support

Google Now will soon allow users to control their Nest thermostat. The virtual assistant will simply require a command to change the Nest thermostat setting.

With a command like Ok, Google, set the temperature to 65 degrees”, Google Now will try and complete the task. The temperature requests are displayed in your Google Now card when the thermostat is cooling or heating your home. However, at present the virtual assistant cannot complete your temperature requests as it requires your Google account authorization to work with the Nest device. Currently as soon as you give the command, Google Now takes you to a page setup but when you tap “Yes, I am in”, it redirects you to a page that is still not active.

Google had acquired Nest in January this year and unveiled a new “Works with Nest” program that will allow smart devices to work with Nest products.
