Twitter rolls out “While You Were Away” feature for some users

Twitter has started rolling out “While You Were Away” feature for some users. As the name suggests, the feature enables users to have a quick look at all the important tweets and topics they have missed since their last login.

The feature showcases a recap of best tweets to the top of a user’s timeline the next time they open their Twitter app or browse the website. Twitter’s recent feature is similar to Facebook’s news feed that shows you “Top Stories” on the homepage. “Every time you open the Twitter app, you’ll see something great,” the company said of the feature in November.

Twitter had also revealed a couple of plans to make the timeline access more easy for the users. The microblogging site earlier stated that over 500 million tweets are sent a day. At present it is not clear how Twitter chooses the top content. It must be noted that the feature is rolling out to few users at the moment and might receive an official rollout soon.
