YU YUREKA Photo Gallery

Micromax’s YU launched the YU YUREKA (AO5510) smartphone running Cyanogen OS last month for Rs. 8,999. We already brought you the hands on impressions from the launch event and unboxing few days back. Here we have the hardware walk through of the smartphone in the form of photo gallery.

The 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display is bright. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. The phone has huge bezels around the display, so it’s slightly bigger than smartphones like OnePlus One. It is powered by a Octa-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) SoC.

It runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 (Kitkat). YU has promised to offer OTA updates every month and update the smartphone to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) soon.

It has a 5-megapixel camera on the front with OmniVision 5648 sensor, 4P lenses and offers 71-degree wide viewing angle. Apart from the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors, it also has a small LED notification light next to the earpiece that is hardly visible when it’s off.

It has the usual set of capacitive buttons below the display. These are backlit and offer haptic feedback when pressed.

The volume rockers are present on the left side.

The power button is present on the right side. Both these have chrome finish. Since it has curved finish on the side, it extends from 6 to 8.8 mm.

The micro USB slot and the primary microphone hole are present on the bottom.

The 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top.

It has a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, 5P lenses and Sony Exmor RS IMX135 sensor. It has a secondary microphone as well. It supports 1080p video recording at 30fps and 720p slow motion at 60fps.

It has a removable back cover that offer matte finish. There is a loudspeaker grill on the bottom part of the back. It comes in Moonstone Grey color.

The smartphone weighs 155 grams with battery. It has 4G support, including support for 4G LTE bands (TDD-LTE B40 2300MHz and FDD-LTE B3 1800MHz) for India.

Removing the back cover reveals two micro SIM slots, a microSD card slot and a huge 2500mAh battery that occupies almost 60% of its back. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB internal memory. We will be bringing you the benchmarks, battery test results, camera samples and more in coming days before the complete review of the smartphone.
