Microsoft expands Office for Android tablet preview

Microsoft has announced the expansion of Office for Android tablet preview. The software giant had first released the tablet preview in beta in November last year.

The Office for Android tablet preview includes tablet-optimized version Word, Excel, and PowerPoint which is now open to general public. Prior to this, the beta required users to sign up to be eligible, but now Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available for anyone to install. In order to use Office for Android tablet, users will need to have an ARM-powered tablet with a screen size between 7 and 10.1 inches and they must be running Android KitKat 4.4 or Lollipop 5.0.

“Today, we are excited to announce that we are further expanding the preview. We want more feedback from more users to ensure that Office apps work well on a range of different Android tablets before launching the official apps. ”

posted Office in a company blog.

You can download the Office for Android tablet preview app – Word, Excel and Powerpoint from the Google Play Store.
