Google Maps has been updated with voice based lane guidance feature for 20 cities in India. The feature will allow users to see and hear voice guided instructions on which lane they should stay.
The Android and iOS app is updated in cities like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam . Users will also be able to receive lane guidance also on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
“Our goal is to continue making Google Maps for mobile into a handy travel companion for your daily commutes and trips around India, and we hope the new lane guidance will help make your road travels easier to navigate.”

Google says that turn by turn voice navigation instruction will be available in English in Indian accent and Hindi as well. Maps in India received Hindi language support in July last year and they received Material Design features in November.
