ASUS Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 smartphones received a price cut in India earlier this month. Now ASUS has released a new 8GB variant of the Zenfone 5 (A501CG) to Rs. 7,999 for Republic Day. The Zenfone 5 was launched for Rs. 9,999 last year and got a price cut to Rs. 9,499 earlier this month. According to ASUS, this new variant has 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Z2520 Processor, but it retains the same 2GB RAM and 5-inch HD display, unlike 1GB RAM and 5-inch qHD display in the Zenfone 5 Lite.
ASUS Zenfone 5 has received a tremendous response from the Indian masses, said the company in a release. The Zenfone series received Android 4.4 (KitKat) update last year.
