Just in time for Valentines’ day (if you’re looking for a present idea), Samsung have announced that the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones will be available to buy in UK stores on Thursday 12th February. Both devices will be available to buy from selected high street retailers and networks including Carphone Warehouse, EE and O2 and will also be available to try out and pre-order from Samsung Experience Stores from 28th January.
Dubbed the successors to the Galaxy Alpha, the metal-clad Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 combine an all-metal design with a Super AMOLED display along with a range of other specs including a NFC, LTE, 5MP front-facing cameras with a wide selfie mode and more. The Galaxy A3 has a 4.5 inch qHD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 8MP rear camera, 1080p video capture, 16GB internal storage, 1.5GB RAM and a 1900 mAh battery.
In comparison, the Galaxy A5 has a larger 5 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. On the back is a 13MP camera which can shoot 1080p video at 30 frames per second whilst the whole package is powered by a 2300 mAh battery.

The Galaxy A3 is available to pre-order for £249 whilst the Galaxy A5 will set you back £349. Exact contract pricing is yet to be confirmed. At the moment the Midnight Black and Pearl White variants of each handset are available to order now with the Platinum Silver and Champagne Gold colours listed as coming soon.
